Issue
During the installation of Webtrends Analytics 8.7d or higher, the installer may state Windows Installer 4.5 is required, after which the installation will terminate.
Cause
The Webtrends installer requires Windows Installer 4.5 to be installed in order to complete the installation successfully but it is not among the included packages and therefore requires manual installation.
Resolution
Windows Installer 4.5 can be downloaded from the Microsoft website at the following URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f9f4&displaylang=en
After the download has completed, install the Windows Installer 4.5, then reattempt the Webtrends installation.
