Issue
When installing Webtrends Analytics 8.0x on Windows Server 2003, the installation hangs and displays the following message: “Analyzing existing information”
Resolution
This occurs when Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) has not been installed. The updates to the Windows installer are required to complete the installation, therefore the solution is to stop the installation, upgrade to SP1, then rerun the Webtrends installation.
If you already have SP1 installed, to ensure that you have the most recent copy of the Windows installer refer to www.microsoft.com and search for the phrase “windows installer” to download and install the update manually. This requires you to validate your installation of windows before continuing.
