Smartsource Data Collector
Cause
The SmartSource Data Collector (SDC) has the following minimum hardware requirements:
Windows – 2 cores at 1 ghz or faster processor
Linux – 2 cores at 1 ghz or higher processor
Solaris – Dual 400 MHz or higher UltraSparc-II processors
1 GB of RAM
Storage:
200 MB for every one million page views collected
These recommendations are for a physical server. SDC does not scale by allocating processor cores or memory.

Note: SDC is ONLY supported on vSphere (VMWare and ESXi) v4.1 or 5.0 .
The SDC version 8.0d is supported on the following operating systems:
Windows 2003 SP1 or higher (requires MS .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.0 or higher)
Windows 2003 R2 (requires MS .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.0 or higher)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2
Sun Solaris 10 on Sparc
Supported Web Servers:
Apache Web Server 2.0.55 or higher
Microsoft Internet Information Server v6.0 (x86 edition)
Note: Product documentation for version 8.1x states that support for the SDC on Solaris will end with the next release. SDC is not tied to the Analytics Version. Support for Solaris installations has been discontinued with the release of SDC version 9.0.
