Issue

The Webtrends Scheduler Agent service crashes and returns the following error message:
Webtrends has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The error report states the following:
szAppName : wtxd.exe szAppVer : 8.5.0.234 szMo

Resolution

This can be the result of corruption in the agent.conf file, indicated by it either being 0 kb in size, or else the same size as before but containing no content. Replacing the corrupted agent.conf with the backup copy named agent.bak should resolve this issue.
1. Stop all of the Webtrends services.
2. Navigate to the following folder:
Webtrends\modules\agent
3. Open the agent.conf file with a text editor to verify whether or not it contains data.
4. If agent.conf does not contain any data, close it and delete it.
5. Rename agent.bak to agent.conf, then make a copy the new agent.conf and rename it agent.bak.
6. Start all of the Webtrends services.
7. Attempt to analyze a profile.
