Error: “java.lang.NoSuchFieldException” when clicking links in the reporting console

While viewing reports in the Webtrends reporting console, clicking on links in the user interface return the following error:

java.lang.NoSuchFieldException

The error indicates a problem with the installation of Java on the client machine and requires uninstallation, then reinstallation. To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:

1. Stop all Webtrends services. If this is a distributed architecture stop all Webtrends services on the user interface servers.

2. Remove all versions of Java from the machine on which reports are being viewed, then restart the machine.

3. Download and install the latest version of Java, available from the following URL:

http://www.java.com

4. Launch the browser and clear its cache.

5. Launch the Java applet from the Control Panel and clear the Java cache as well.

6. Restart the Webtrends user interface service(s).

Interaction with the Webtrends user interface should now.
