Issue

An analysis fails and displays an error message similar to the following:
“Failed to initialize the plugin C:\Program files\Webtrends\modules\analysis\engine\8.0a\WTActiveXBridge.dll`XltVrBucket.dll.”

Resolution

If the Webtrends services are running as a domain user or a local service account, ensure that this account has been added to the Administrators group and has been assigned to the following Local Security Policies:
Act as part of the operating system
Allow logon locally
Logon as a service
To add a user to the Administrators group, perform the steps below:
1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative tools.
2. Open Computer Management.
3. Expand Local Users and Groups, then click the Groups folder.
4. Right-click Administrators, then click Properties.
5. Click Add.
6. Enter the account name in the field (using the syntax “domain\username”), then click “Check Names” to verify the account.
7. After the account has been confirmed, click OK.
To add a user to a Local Security Policy, perform the steps below:
1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative tools.
2. Click Local Security Policy.
3. Expand Local Policies > User Rights Assignment.
4. In the right pane, right-click “Act as part of the operating system,” then click Properties.
5. Click “Add User or Group…”
6. Enter the account name in the field (using the syntax “domain\username”), then click “Check Names” to verify the account.
7. After the account has been confirmed, click OK.
