Issue
On Windows 2000, XP or 2003 servers with Apache installed, the following error displays in Windows Event Viewer:
The Apache service named reported the following error:
>>> [Wed Dec 13 18:02:55 2006] [notice] Disabled use of AcceptEx() WinSock2 API
Resolution
This error can be safely ignored. The AcceptEx() function within the WinSock2 API is intended as a performance enhancement, but is not necessary for normal operation. In fact, Apache should be reporting this as a notice rather than an error, and this defect has been logged in Apache’s official bug tracking system:
