Issue
Should I use a local system account or domain account to run Webtrends’ services?
Resolution
A domain service account is required to properly run the services. Webtrends uses domain authentication (the same domain on which Webtrends is installed) to authenticate the various services with the MS SQL server. Local user accounts may have authentication issues and cause various errors with analysis or service loading, especially when trying to communicate across the network.
