Issue

Is Webtrends’ analysis case-sensitive?

Resolution

Webtrends does not distinguish case when dealing with any character set for its reports. Default reports, such as the Pages report, will use the first instance of a URL in the logs for reporting purposes and aggregate statistics from URLs matching the single URL, regardless of case.

This means that on a given day, a URL with “PAGE.html” may appear, then on the next day, one with “page.html” may appear. This is dependent on what order the URL is parsed in the logs. This also applies to weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting periods.
