How do I configure W3C Extended logging properties for Microsoft IIS 10.0?

Resolution

To configure log file properties under Microsoft IIS 10.0, perform the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Start > Windows Administrative Tools and open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  2. Navigate down from the server name > Sites and click on the web site.
  3. Under the IIS group on the right, double click “Logging”.
  4. Click “Select Fields”
  5. The following logging properties may be selected. Those not included in the list below may cause analysis failure or affect report accuracy.
    • Date (date)
    • Time (time)
    • Client IP Address (c-ip)
    • User Name (cs-username)
    • Server Name (s-computername)
    • Server IP Address (s-ip)
    • Method (cs-method)
    • URI Stem (cs-uri-stem)
    • URI Query (cs-uri-query)
    • Protocol Status (sc-status)
    • Bytes sent (sc-bytes)
    • Bytes Received (sc-bytes)
    • Time Taken (time-taken)
    • Protocol Version (cs-version)
    • Host (cs-host)
    • User Agent (cs(User-Agent))
    • Cookie (cs(Cookie))
    • Referer (cs(Referer))
  6. Once all items have been selected, click OK to close the W3C Logging Fields window.
  7. Click “Apply” on the right.
