Issue
You are installing a distributed architecture and want to place the Tools group on multiple analysis nodes to allow them to perform backups.
Resolution
As a result of changes made to the user interface and the installer during the user interface’s conversion to IIS, with Webtrends 8.1 and later, it is not possible to install the Tools group without installing the user interface server as well.
The only way to add the Tools group to an analysis node is to run a custom install, and then add the user interface server component to that node. This will require you to meet all of the system requirements for running a user interface server, including a functioning copy of IIS. After the installation is complete, you can disable the Marketing Lab web site in IIS, then disable the IIS service to stop the installed user interface component on that node.
