Issue

Garbage characters and diacritical characters appear in the Page Titles of reports using double-byte character encoding.

Resolution

If the majority of traffic displays this way, specify the proper encoding language.

1. Edit the profile and navigate to “Analysis > Language.”

2. Select the home country for this profile. Reports show traffic that does not originate in the home country as international.

3. Select the default encoding and language to use for viewing reports for this profile. Select a language compatible with the web site encoding used for reports.

4. Select the default locale used for formatting dates and numbers in reports.

If an Asian language was selected for this profile, you can enable encoding conversion. Encoding conversion converts page titles, search phrases and query parameters to the encoding format used by the web site.
