Issue
During installation, the connection string information for SQL server is required. Placing special characters into the server name field and selecting next brings up a prompt saying:
Hostnames can only contain the following characters: Alphanumeric characters, periods (.) and dashes (-). Hostnames must also begin with an alphanumeric character.
Resolution
In order for the installation to continue, the server name must be changed to conform to the required naming convention shown in the introduction, or the SQL server moved to an alternate machine that follows the naming convention.
