Scheduled report exports sent via email are compressed in a .zip file and the receiving mail server rejects the attachment

Issue

Scheduled report exports that are sent as an email attachment are compressed into .zip archives if the exported file is two megabytes or larger in size because some mail servers are configured to reject large attachments. However, some mail servers also reject .zip files by default, and as a result, exported reports are not received.

Resolution

There are two workarounds in this scenario. The first is to configure the export to be smaller than the one megabyte limit and avoid compression. This can be done by selecting a minimal number of reports at the time of export. The other option is to export the report and save it to a shared folder on the Webtrends server rather than send it via e-mail.
