Profiles enter the analysis queue but analysis hangs

Products

Webtrends Analytics 9.2a
Webtrends Analytics 8.7d

Issue

A profile in the waiting queue moves to the analysis queue but does not begin analysis.

Cause

This may result from User Access Control (UAC) on Windows Server 2008.

Resolution

Perform the steps below:

  1. Log on to the affected analysis engine using the service account under which the Scheduler Agent service runs.
  2. Verify that UAC has been disabled.
  3. Run the profile from the command line by navigating to the following location:
    \Webtrends\modules\analysis

    Enter the following command:
analysis wlpfile=”guid for profile without quotes”

    Example:
    analysis wlpfile=X8e4Xio045

Although UAC has been disabled, you may receive a pop-up asking if you would like to run this process. Uncheck the option to prompt for this again and select “yes”.

The profile should complete and the problem should now be resolved. The issue results from the UAC setting still being enabled even though it had been turned off. Once the prompt has been disabled for that user, analyzing a profile from the Webtrends user interface should allow analysis to proceed.
