Error while retrieving log files using an FTP data source: “(FTP Error (10054) waiting for reply.)”

Profiles which use data sources defined with FTP as a data source path either do not run or analysis fails, displaying the following error message in the status logs:

(FTP Error (10054) waiting for reply.)


This issue will occur if the Application Layer Gateway service or the Routing and Remove Access service is running on the FTP server. To confirm whether or not this is the case, open a command line window, run the FTP command and connect to the FTP server and attempt to transfer a log file from the remote machine.
