Issue
Errors similar to the following display in the Event Viewer:
Computer:
Length specified in network packet payload did not match number of bytes read; the connection has been closed. Please contact the vendor of the client library. [CLIENT:]
Cause
This is indicates a vulnerability checker or port scanner is scanning the database server. When queries are made to the server, the SQL database writes messages in response to packets that aren’t actually trying to connect to it.
Resolution
To prevent these messages, disable the scanner. Otherwise, they may be safely ignored as they do not impact Webtrends’ functionality.
