Issue
The following error message displays:
“Error 1327. Invalid drive :\”
…where is a drive letter, or potentially a drive letter, on the system or network.
Cause
This results for two reasons, the first being when a user attempts to install to a drive letter that has not been mapped to a drive. This also occurs when users are logged into the server and do not have sufficient permissions.
Resolution
In the case of a non-mapped drive, create a mapping to the drive, then attempt to run the installer again.
Regarding user permissions, if it is a domain account, create a local user with the same user name and password (shadow the domain user as a local user). If the user is a local user there is no need to shadow the account. Add this user to the local Administrators group. Give the user the following local security policies:
- Act as part of the operating system
- Log on as a service
- Log on locally
