Issue
After installing the latest version of Java, the “java -version” command returns a version of 1.3 or something similarly different from the version expected.
Cause
This is due to the client running the Oracle JInitiator version of Java.
Resolution
Uninstalling this version will resolve the issue. However, since Oracle JInitiator is installed to support other applications, clients should contact their system administrator before removing this application, as some products have to be upgraded to a newer version to coexist.
Note: Running a version of Java lower than the minimum required version specified by Webtrends will cause certain modules to fail.
