Issue
When attempting to export reports to e-mail, the following error message display:
“Authentication failed. Webtrends server error ID: 116”
This indicates the SMTP selected in the scheduled export job is rejecting the request to email the exported report.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
- Use a non-authenticating SMTP relay server
- Request the administrator of the SMTP server allow relays from the IP of the Webtrends server
- Configure the Webtrends service account to log into the SMTP server (this requires the Webtrends – Scheduler Agent service be logged in using the service account)
