Analyzeprofile.vbs generates an error at line 1787

Issue

Generally, this error manifests itself as analyzeprofile.vbs causing an error when attempting to analyze a profile, and commonly at line 1787, although there is nothing that would prevent this error from occurring in other scripts used during analysis, or at other lines in this script.

Resolution

We have identified the problem as most commonly being with Microsoft WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation), and this can be resolve by performing the following steps. First, restart the system and after logging in, ensure the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running.

Reset WMI as detailed below:
1. Stop, then disable the Windows Management Instrumentation service
2. Delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\repository\*
3. Delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\logs\*
4. Re-enable the Windows Management Instrumentation service
5. Start the Windows Management Instrumentation service
