Cause
The mandatory upgrade path from Webtrends Analytics 8.0d to 9.3 is as follows:
8.0d > 8.5a > 8.7d > 9.2b>9.2d> 9.3
Attempts to skip steps, or to upgrade from versions other than those specified, such as 8.5 > 8.7d (instead of 8.5a), will fail. The exception is for customers using Webtrends Anaytics 8.1a, to which the next step would be Webtrends Analytics 8.5a.
As a best practice, it is recommended that the installation is tested for stability and monitored after each step of the overall upgrade process.
If you use the GeoTrends module you must contact Webtrends Technical Support to download the correct version of the geotrends.dat file.
Note: Best practice dictates backups of the Webtrends installation are made prior to attempting an upgrade.
