How do I set up a Lookup Table to use in Software?

Cause

Many preconfigured reports use lookup tables by default. If you are licensed to create and edit custom reports, you can assign a standardlookup table to any dimension or measure when creating or editing a custom report. The Campaigns and Products drilldown reports alsorely on specialized drilldown lookup tables. You can also assign a lookup table when creating URL Parameter Analysis definitions.

Note:
You cannot use lookup tables to translate values for Express Analysis reports. WebTrends displays the untranslated values when you viewExpress Analysis data.

Resolution

In Web Analysis->Report Configuration->Custom Reports->Lookup Tables

Select New

Enter Name
Specifies a description for the lookup table.

Type
You can select File or Database.

File Location
If you select File in the Type text box, you can enter, or browse to, the location of the file.

The normal location for all Lookup Tables to be stored is on the Webtrends Server is in the following folder
/storage/config/wtm_wtx/datfiles/datasources

If you are using this default location you can just enter the relative path .\wtm_wtx\datfiles\datasources\ followed by the filename.

Source Database Type
If you select Database in the Type text box, you need to fill out the following text boxes:

Source Database
If you select SQL in the Source Database Type text box, type in the System data source name (DSN). If you select Oracle in the Source

Database Type text box, type in the TNS Service Name. The TNS Service Name is the name by which an Oracle database instance isknown on a network.

Username
Type the user name for the source database.

Password
Type the password for the source database.

Delimiter
If you select File in the Type text box, you can also select a character to serve as a delimiter.
Choices are Comma, Space and Tab


Allow only WebTrends Administrators to delete or edit these settings
Limits permissions for editing or deleting this definition to WebTrends Administrators only. This feature is available to users withadministrator rights and, when selected, appears as a check in the Locked column of the Lookup Table Settings dialog
