Cause
MS SQL Server Management Studio is required for editing the Webtrends system database but the version of Management Studio available from Microsoft includes the database as well the editor, and therefore cannot be installed.
Resolution
Microsoft has a stand-alone version of Management Studio available, but this requires installation of the Microsoft Web Platform in order for it to be installed. Navigate to the URL below to begin installation of the Microsoft Web Platform, after which installation of Management Studio will begin.

The latest version of SSMS is fully backwards compatible and no longer requires the MS Web Platform. Download it from the following URL.
