How do I determine if my tag has been put on another company’s website.

Cause

Some clients have notice that their code, including the Webtrends tagging, has been used by other sites. This KB will show how to create a report that will show sites other than the clients hosted domains.

Resolution

In Webtrends Administration, navigate to Report Configuration > Custom Reports >

Createthe following custom report to see if the tag is being hosted on other sites.

Create 2 new dimensions:
Dimension name: Domain
Column name: Domain
Based on: Multi-homed Domain

Dimension name: WT.dl
Column name: WT.dl
Based on: Query Parameter “WT.dl”

Create 2 filters.
Filter Name: mydomain.com
Type: Hit
Filter Requirements: Filter must match one or more criteria
Match Criteria:
Filter On: Domain
Matches Values: Equal to mydomain.com
Filter Name: WT.dl=0
Type: Hit
Filter Requirements: Filter must match one or more criteria
Match Criteria:
Filter On: WT.dl
Matches Values: Equal to 0

Now create the report.
Name: Infringing Websites
Type: Standard Custom Report
Category: Default
Report Title: Infringing Websites
Description:
Dimension 1: Domain
Dimension 2: None
Measure 1: Visits – sortable, interval data not available
Measure 2: Views (Sum) – sortable, interval data not available
Filters: mydomain.com (Exclude)
WT.dl = 0 (Include)
Accumulation Type: On Event
It is necessary to add the custom report to the desired profile. Here are the steps:
In the Webtrends Administration Console navigate to Reports & Profiles.
Hover the mouse over the desired profile, select Action then Edit from the pop-up menu.
Under the Advanced tab select Reports and place a check mark next to the Report named Infringing Websites.
The data will populate the report after the next full analysis has completed.
