Cause
You want to determine which version of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) you are currently running.
Resolution
1. Perform the following steps:
Go to Start > Run > type “C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\msadc” (without the quotes), then click OK.
2. Right-click and select “Properties” for any driver (.dll file), then select the “Version” tab.
Alternately, you can check the version in the registry:
1. Go to Start > Run > type “regedit” (without the quotes), then click OK.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DataAccess.
3. The MDAC version is the “FullInstallVer” key value.
These instructions have been tested in Windows 2003, Windows 2000 and XP.
