Issue
When updating REST data in Excel 2010, either no data is returned or the query tries to run but never completes.
Cause
This can be caused by having the “Enable background refresh” option checked in the External Data Range Properties.
Resolution
Unchecking the “Enable background refresh” option in External Data Range Properties should allow the data to populate again.
