How do I configure the Domain Profile Generator (DPG)?

Introduction: To configure a new master Domain Profile Generator (DPG) profile, perform the following steps:
1. From the Profiles menu on the left of the Admin Console, click New. The Add New Profile wizard opens.
2. Select one of the following types of servers to be analyzed.
Web Server: Use this for standard web content.
Streaming Media Server: Use this for analyzing streaming media server log files.
3. Under Extended Options, select the Domain Profile Generator Profile (DPG) radio-button.
4. Click Next.
5. Finish creating your new DPG profile. The first time Webtrends Reporting Center analyzes a DPG profile, child profiles are created. These child profiles can be customized individually at the command line as an efficient means of administering profiles. The Administrator's Guide will offer more detail about customizing child profiles.
How do I view child profiles?
1. From the Admin Console, select the Domain Profile Generator link. The Domain Profile Generator Profiles dialogue box opens. Note: Alternately, you may select the DPG profile you wish to view from the profiles list and click DPG Configuration under the Profiles menu on the left. The list of available child profiles for the selected master profile displays.
2. Select the master profile for the child profile(s) you want to view, and click View. A list of available child profiles appears.
3. You may optionally view the status log for the child profile.
a. Select a child profile from the Children (Domains) list.
b. Click View Status Log.
c. Click Close to return to the list of child profiles.
4. Click Back to return to the list of master profiles.
5. Click Close to return to the list of profiles.
How do I view reports for a child profile?
1. In the DPG Master Profile dialog box, select the child profile you want to view report data on from the Children (Domains) list box.
2. Click View Reports to view the reports for the selected child profile.
3. Click View Status Log if you want details on the status of this profile.
4. Click Back to return to the list of master profiles.
5. Click Close to return to the list of profiles.
How do I edit a master profile? To edit a Domain Profile Generator profile, follow the same procedures used for updating a normal Webtrends Reporting Center profile.
How do I customize a child profile? You can customize the child profiles that a DPG master profile creates by adding entries to the [section_name] section of the DPG configuration file. The format of this section is offered below.
Reptitle = value is used as the title of the report for that profile
Repimage = value is the path to an image file used in report
Repimagealt = value is the path to an image file to display over the Repimage
Repimageurl = value is used as link, within the report, to a web site
Reptitle2 = value will be used as the secondary title of the report for that profile
Repimage2 = value is the path to a secondary image file used in the report
Repimagealt2 = value is the path to an image file to display over the Repimage2
Repimageurl2 = value is used as a secondary link, within the report, to a web site
Description = value is the description that appears in the UI for the profile
Reportfile = value is the .wct file that will be used for the profile's reports
Dailyreport = value is true or false, depending on whether or not daily reports should be produced for the profile
Weeklyreport = value is true or false, depending on whether or not weekly reports should be produced for the profile Monthlyreport = value is true or false, depending on whether or not monthly reports should be produced for the profile
Quarterlyreport = value is true or false, depending on whether or not quarterly reports should be produced for the profile
Yearlyreport = value is true or false, depending on whether or not yearly reports should be produced for the profile
