Introduction:
We use the round robin approach for DNS. Each request will be sent to a single DNS server (if there are three DNS servers defined, one out of three requests will hit the first server). If at some point the DNS server becomes saturated and is not responding, the DNS event sent will time out and will not resend to the other two servers.
