New Features and Enhancements
More Accurate Session Tracking
In cases where a visitor cannot be tracked by a cookie (or some other alternative method), Webtrends now uses the IP address concatenated with the User Agent to determine the identity of the visitor. Adding the User Agent to the IP will result in higher, but more accurate, unique visitor counts. To disable this feature, follow these steps:
1. Edit the default.ini file in the .\wtm_wtx\datfiles\sessiontracking directory.
2. Under the section of the session tracking profile you are using, add the following key:

useipagent = false

Custom Date Range Reporting (Webtrends Reporting Center - Enterprise only) - Define any date range to report on after analysis is complete. A new 'Custom Date Mode' icon can be found above the report calendar. You must have daily reports enabled to use this feature.

Comparative Custom Mode (Webtrends Reporting Center - Enterprise only) - Compare web behavior trends over time, with side-by-side reports to easily compare changes and measure web site goals for any date range you desire. The 'Comparative Custom Mode' icon is found above the report calendar.

Export Reports to PDF and CSV - In addition to Microsoft Word and Excel, the product now has the ability to output reports in .pdf and .csv (comma separated value) formats. The export icon is found above the report calendar on the far right.

New Popular Routes Report (Webtrends Reporting Center only) - Popular Routes reporting provides information about the most popular routes visitors have taken on your site. Popular Routes reports are found in the Complete View Report Template under the Navigation chapter.

Report Searching - Search individual Reports by Dimension Data or Title. This new feature allows you to filter through individual report information by defining a pattern. A new 'Search Report' icon can be found in the upper right hand corner of tables that support this feature (e.g. Activity by Campaign).

Report Indexing - Advance report tables by row number or by string. Allows you to 'jump' forward to a desired location in the report table. A new 'Go to Row' icon can be found on the scroll bar under tables that support this feature (e.g. Top Pages).

New Custom Report Filter Capabilities (Webtrends Reporting Center only) - New Custom Report Filters have been added in this release. You can now filter out 'None' entries as well as filter on Duration, Page Views, Search Phrase, Search Keywords, Content Group, Exit Page, and Entry Request.

New Custom Report Measure and Dimension Functionality (Webtrends Reporting Center only) - New "Total for Visit" measurement type allows for on Visit-based reporting. Also, new Custom Dimensions functionality has been added which allow for hierarchical Custom Reports. See more about these new features in the Online Help.

Visitor History (Webtrends Reporting Center - Enterprise only) - Visitor History enables you to track historical visitor behavior (e.g. total visit count, first referrer, total visitor value) and use it to segment your reports in a way that makes sense for your web site. See the new Visitor History tab in the profile editor.

New Express Analysis Engine for Parent-Child analysis (Webtrends Reporting Center only)
- When creating a Parent-Child profile you have the option of selecting between Express Analysis or Full-featured Analysis modes. Express processes logs rapidly producing a limited report set while Full-featured takes longer but produces a complete report set.

Parent-Child Profiles and Regular Expressions (Webtrends Reporting Center only)
Regular Expressions are not supported when splitting log files by domain name.

Out of Date Components
If you receive a message during install regarding Windows system components that are out of date, please go to the Microsoft Knowledge Base to obtain the latest VC6 redistributable.;en-us;q259403 

Using Product Licensing with Proxy Servers
If you are using a Proxy server, you may need to specify the proxy server address and port to activate the product. To do this, add the proxy information to plservice.ini in the Webtrends installation directory.

System Requirements:
The following are the minimum system requirements for the product:

Intel x86 - 1GHz processor or better - 1GB memory - 1GB disk space (SCSI disks recommended) Sun - 400 MHz UltraSparc-II processor or better (UltraSparc-III recommended) - 1 GB memory - 1 GB disk space Multiple CPUs are recommended for large numbers of profiles and/or users. More disk space and memory is required to analyze large log files. Also, it is best to install the product on a separate, dedicated system which has access to all of the logs.

Any Windows NT 4.0 (SP3 and above), 2000, XP system. Any Solaris 7, 8, 9 system. Any Red Hat Linux 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 system. 
Note: While Webtrends will not run on Windows 95, 98, or ME, you can operate the Webtrends through a browser loaded on these systems.

Netscape 4.5x - 4.8 Netscape 7.0 and above Internet Explorer 5.0 and above
Note: Pop-ups must be enabled for the user interface to function correctly.

Licensing Information:
Webtrends Reporting Center, Webtrends Log Analyzer, and Webtrends Log Analyzer Advanced utilizes an industry standard product licensing method performed through the use of an activation key, requiring a direct Internet connection, and utilizes standard HTTP requests to a web server. Activation keys are entered into a product when the product is installed or when it is first run, allowing the product to be activated and determine which features are active. A manual process of activation can also be followed if no direct connection is available to the computer Webtrends is being installed on. The software will lead you through the manual process if it does not find a connection.

During this activation process, information such as the Webtrends Activation Key, IP address, and Network Interface Card address are passed to the Webtrends Licensing Database. This information, in addition to verifying licensing, is used to assist Technical Support in the event that an issue would rise with the software and/or installation. No personal information is collected or passed to Webtrends. Webtrends Product/licensing Updates is accessed by clicking on Administration > Product Updates/Licensing. This will open the Webtrends Reporting Center Licensing dialog box, where Automatic Updates can be controlled at the Product/Licensing Updates tab. The Enable Automatic Updates is checked by default, and is highly recommended to stay checked. The frequency of update can be adjusted from the default of Daily to Weekly or Monthly. Opting out can be done by unchecking the Enable Automatic Updates box, but by doing so, license information will not be updated, nor will the software check for updates. A manual update can be performed to update licensing information and check for product updates. This process is access in the same dialog box as described above.
